More winter weather hit Eastern North Carolina, home to our Pitt Pirates in the second week of build season. Due to an early release and cancellation for schools in Pitt County, we lost two more valuable days of build season. Regardless of the weather, all Pirates returned to the shop safe and happy to resume work as soon as they could.
Everyone seemed optimistic that timelines would be made or minimally impacted due to the extra focus everyone on the team has been putting in since coming back to the shop. The Design Team Lead, Kelsey said, “We have a timeline of Monday to have everything on the robot designed and done”. “We should be on track to have a finished robot in about a week and a half”, said the Engineering Lead, Todd. Marketing and Safety Teams member, Payne reiterated the positive can-do spirit by saying that, “Marketing and Safety are still on track… Safety is a bit ahead of schedule.” Our Programming Captain, Daniel said, “I think we are on track to get everything done.”
All members of the team are aware of the impact the inclement weather has had on the time we spend at the shop. A rookie member, Jose said, “We haven't been in for a couple of days due to the weather but I am very confident we can very easily make those up”. Another new member, Cody said, “Even though the snow canceled out one or two days we should be able to be finished with the robot by the end of build season and have all the goals met that have been set.”
