Hey Pitt Pirates!
I know you just got done with school… but we’ve got A LOT of cool stuff coming up and we’ve got to be ready! The team is signed up for the October 5 THOR competition in Reidsville and we agreed to host the FLL tournament on November 2! There are a lot of changes coming in the new year and we will be working to prepare this summer. There will be some Tuesday night meetings and some Saturday Meetings.

Here are the projects and topics. I’m looking for small groups to work on these things. We had to move out of the shop at Eppes and will need to keep the groups smaller and focused. I want to have short and productive meetings. Some will be planning and organization. Some will be building stuff. Let me know if you’re interested in these and we’ll get you details on the meetings.

The Summer project list includes:
1. Schedule, planning and team manual/procedure creation for the fall. We have to be organized for next year.
2. Robox Sumo – Need a few bodies to help me build and test some RC sumo bots for an outreach event on July 17.
3. Finish T-Shirt Bot – Need some folks to finish wiring and programming on the T-shirt bot.
4. Programming practice – People who want to learn/Practice robot programming
5. CAD Practice – People who want to learn/practice CAD design

Right now, the Tuesday (Tentatively) meeting dates (2-2.5hours) would be:
June 18, 25, July 2,9,16,23,30 August 6,13
Saturday Dates (Tentatively) (4 hours) would be:
July 6, 20, 27 August 3,10

Remember, unless we say so, we are not looking for every body at every meeting. Each of the meetings will be about different topics/projects. We are working in smaller spaces and need to have smaller, focused groups to get things done. Please let me know if you want to work on these projects and I’ll get dates/times/places organized.
